Best Gyros in River North Chicago — Open Until 5AM
Authentic Greek gyros made with slow-roasted pork & chicken, fresh-cut vegetables, and house-made tzatziki. Served at 46 E Chicago Ave — River North’s late-night Greek destination.
What Makes Yaya Mas Gyros the Best in River North?
Not all gyros are created equal. At Yaya Mas, every gyro starts with meat stacked and slow-roasted on a vertical rotisserie — the way it’s done in Greece. We use marinated pork and chicken seasoned with our blend of Greek herbs: oregano, garlic, and paprika. The result is crispy-edged, juicy meat that’s shaved to order.
We wrap it in fresh, grilled pita — not the thick, bready pita you find at most Chicago gyro spots. Our pita is thin, chewy, and charred just right. Add house-made tzatziki, fresh tomato, red onion, and a drizzle of lemon, and you have a gyro that tastes like it came from a street cart in Athens.
Vertical Rotisserie
Traditional Greek-style slow roasting. Never pre-cooked or reheated.
Fresh-Grilled Pita
Thin Greek pita, grilled to order. Not a thick bread roll.
House Tzatziki
Made daily with thick Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic & dill.
Fresh Ingredients
Roma tomatoes, red onion, fresh lemon. No shortcuts.
A Gyro Is More Than a Sandwich
In Greece, the gyro (pronounced “YEE-ro”) is street food royalty. It’s what you grab after a long night out, during a lunch break, or any time you want something real, fast, and filling. The word “gyros” literally means “turning” — named for the rotating spit.
When we opened Yaya Mas, bringing this tradition to Chicago’s River North was non-negotiable. We’re one of the only spots on Chicago Ave serving a proper vertical-rotisserie gyro until 5AM on weekends — because that’s exactly when you need one most.
Our regulars include a lot of hospitality workers getting off late, Cubs and Bears fans coming from the United Center, Northwestern students, and anyone who knows that a real gyro after midnight beats anything else in River North.

What type of meat is in your gyros?

Are your gyros available late night?
Yes! Yaya Mas is open until 2AM Sunday–Thursday and until 5AM on Friday and Saturday nights. Our full gyro menu is available until close — no late-night limited menu.
Can I order gyros for delivery in River North?
Yes. Order online at yayamas.com/order/ or through DoorDash and Uber Eats. We deliver across River North, Gold Coast, Streeterville, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Do you have a vegetarian gyro option?
We don’t currently offer a meat-free gyro wrap, but we have excellent vegetarian options including spanakopita, Greek salad, and hummus plates. Ask our staff about modifications.
